Welcome to Batley Girls’ High School website. We hope the information provided on our website gives you an insight into our ethos and values. We are an ‘Outstanding’ 11-19 school, serving a diverse community, drawing students from across North and South Kirklees and beyond.
At Batley Girls’ High School we share a profound commitment to the principles and ethos based on Achievement, Respect and Transformation.
- Achievement at Batley Girls’ High School is yet again amongst the top in the country. Progress is rated as in the top 1% nationally. “Students achieve exceptionally well in this outstanding academy. They make rapid and sustained progress.” (Ofsted 2013)
- Respect for self, for others and for learning is at the heart of all we do. This is deeply embedded within the school and we pride ourselves on the fact that relationships are happy and harmonious. All staff work tirelessly to create an environment where our students are safe, secure and able to thrive. “Students get on with each other exceptionally well and are tolerant of each other’s views and opinions.” “Students’ behaviour is exemplary. Their attitudes demonstrate a love of learning.” (Ofsted 2013)
- Transformation, the learning journey to becoming happy, healthy, well-educated young women, is what we are passionate about. We provide an educational experience that is both inspirational and aspirational, providing our students with the skills, knowledge and understanding they need to make their contribution to society. “Staff believe passionately that all students should reach their potential.” (Ofsted 2013)
In 2015 we were successful in our application to become Batley Multi Academy Trust, and in April 2016 welcomed our first partner school, Upper Batley High School, into the Trust. The future is exciting as we look forward to growing Batley Multi Academy Trust to serve our local families and communities in providing the best possible educational opportunities for all.
