No matter what year your daughter is in, there is always something she can be thinking about to inform her future options.
The main focus in Year 11 is the transition of your daughter from Batley Girls’ High School to her preferred choice of either sixth form, college or apprenticeship. The vast majority of Year 11 students are in touch with me via their school account, however, I will try to contact them all to ensure they have an offer of a sixth form or college place. I can also help them to manage their Get Into account. If they are seeking an apprenticeship, I can help them search and apply.
I hope to start guidance sessions with Year 10 in the Summer Term. My intention is to contact all Year 10 students to discuss how they can plan for the decisions that they have to make in Year 11. They can access their Unifrog account for careers information, quizzes and subject ideas to help them with their decision-making. They can also start to log activities that they have done such as attending virtual careers fairs, webinars etc.
Years 7, 8 and 9This is the time to start thinking about what they are good at and what they enjoy and then how that can link to jobs and careers. They can access their Unifrog account for careers information, quizzes and subject ideas to help them with their decision making. They can also start to log activities that they have done such as attending any virtual careers events.
I attend SEN transition reviews in Years 8, 11 and 12 and 13 where appropriate. For more information visit C&K Careers Online.
