An Exciting New Space for Art and Design

We have been really excited to gain a new space to the Art and Design Department area in school. The Atrium space opposite the Photography Room will function as a large studio space for both our A level Photography students and our Media students, as well as a space for our new GCSE Photography course next year.

Our Sixth Form Art and Photography representatives enjoyed using the new space to welcome visitors to the school at recent events, both as part of the Whole School Careers Convention, and at the Sixth Form Open Evening. We in the Art and Design team would like to thank Mrs Balmer for designing and cutting out the creative props, and 12LS for painting in the props used to liven up the Open Evening for prospective Art and Design students this year. As well as a chance to talk about the courses with specialist staff and former students, visitors role-played some well-known artworks using our creative props.

We are now looking forward to transforming the space as part of our Art Exhibition later in the year.
