Remote Access

Updated December 2016.

The method to access the school system remotely has recently changed, moving away from the previous Citrix solution.

This method will currently work on:

  • Windows 7 and above (possibly also Vista).
  • MacOS with Microsoft Remote Desktop installed (available for free here: App Store Microsoft RD or from the App Store)
  • iOS with Microsoft Remote Desktop installed (available for free here: App Store Microsoft RD or from the App Store).
  • Android with Microsoft Remote Desktop installed.

Clicking on the access page here will present an authentication page.

On this page, enter your normal school computer username and password.

This will present a portal with an icon for Remote Desktop.  Click on this to download/launch/save the Microsoft Remote Desktop shortcut.  From this point, the instructions differ for each type of connection.  This page will be updated as more information is available.

Windows

Once the Remote Desktop icon has been saved, launch it and accept any certificate prompts you may receive.  If you are prompted for a username and password again, please enter it in the format school\username (where username is the username you entered on the first page).  Enter the same password again and you should be connected after a short wait.

MacOS

Once the Remote Desktop icon has been saved, you need to open it with Microsoft Remote Desktop.  You can do this by dragging the shortcut on to the program icon, right-clicking and choosing Open With->Microsoft Remote Desktop.  You will need to accept the certificate prompt if it appears.  If you are prompted for a username and password again, please enter it in the format school\username (where username is the username you entered on the first page).  Enter the same password again and you should be connected after a short wait.
