Hello and welcome to our first Co-Heads’ update.
We’ve had an excellent start to the school year celebrating our superb record-breaking exam results as well as our fantastic refurbishment for the Lecture Theatre and Year 7 Cafeteria, which was showcased during our Year 7 Open Evening last week.
The Change Project, which we lead along with Mosaic (a Batley-based community arts organisation and registered charity), brings together artists and students where Visual Arts and Science combine to educate and inspire. We’re extremely pleased and proud to announce that we’ve secured funding for a further two years, which means this partnership can continue to flourish and students have a platform for expression.
We have also held events to welcome our new Year 7, Year 11 and Year 12 students and parents, it was great to speak to them together to hear how they’ve found the transition and how they’re settling into their new year groups.
We continue to support Batley Food Bank, our Parents’ Forum charity, and after a really successful drive for toiletries at the end of the Summer Term we’re collecting again as we know there is a constant demand for these and other items within the community.
