Attendance
Our school day starts at 8:25 am each day. Learners arriving after this time without a justifiable reason will receive a same day 30 minute detention.
There is an obvious link between high attendance and achievement. Learners whose attendance falls below 90% will have missed 20 school days or 140 lessons. Nationally learners in this situation will achieve two grades lower than someone of a similar ability with 98%+ attendance. The link is clear
High Attendance = High Achievement
Please help us support your daughter in maintaining attendance of at least 98% by:
1. Encouraging them to come to school.
2. Booking appointments during school holidays.
3. Avoiding extended trips for holidays or family visits during term time.
4. Encouraging your daughter to get plenty of sleep, by removing electronic equipment to avoid distractions when they are in bed. Learners have told us that ‘feeling tired’ is one of the reasons why they don't attend school.
Please reach out for support from school if you are having difficulty getting your daughter to attend school. We are here to help.
