Transition Day 2021 - Update:
Due to the latest guidance, the Year 6 Transition Day will now be virtual. Please read the letter below for full details.
We are delighted that you have chosen to join Batley Girls’ High School.
We know that things have been very different for us all during this last year, but we wanted to assure you that we are thinking of you and are really excited about all the things we have planned when you join us. We also will keep you informed in terms of how we will manage the transition process prior to September as lockdown eases. As always, we will be guided by the latest Government advice and we are hopeful that this will mean that your daughter will be able to visit our school prior to September on July 6, the allocated transition date across Kirklees.
We understand that starting secondary school can be very exciting yet, a little daunting experience for many students. Our staff understand this and work closely with the primary schools to try to make students transition as easy as possible.
We also hosted a summer school from Tuesday 31 August to Friday 3 September to support student transition to secondary school. The main focus of the sessions was the development of numeracy and literacy skills through fun and engaging activities. We also promoted the love of reading and creative activities.

In the meantime, take care and our sincere best wishes to you all,
The Transition Team at Batley Girls’ High School
